Frequently asked questions
Where is Game Repair Shop?
We have two locations, Omaha and Lincoln. Bring your console to either one. Omaha repairs are usually same day. The Lincoln location is inside the Gamers store at 2711 King Ln, Ste 202, Lincoln, NE 68521. Customers also come from Sioux City, Council Bluffs, Grand Island and Kearney, or mail their consoles in.
What are your Lincoln store hours?
Monday–Wednesday 12–7 PM, Thursday–Saturday 12–8 PM, Sunday 12–7 PM.
Do I need an appointment in Lincoln?
No. Walk-ins are welcome during Lincoln store hours. You can call (402) 703-4403 first with questions.
How much does diagnosis cost?
Omaha and mail-in: free, with a $40 fee only if the item can’t be repaired. Lincoln store: $25 at drop-off, credited toward your repair. Return shipping on mail-ins is always free. Either way, we quote the repair before any work and nothing is fixed until you approve.
What warranty do repairs have?
Repairs come with a 30-day limited warranty on the work performed. It doesn’t cover new damage, liquid or later drops.
How long do repairs take?
Omaha: same day in most cases. Lincoln store: 3 to 5 days. Mail-in: 3 to 5 days after the console arrives, plus shipping. Back-ordered parts can add time.
Will I lose my games and saves?
Most repairs (HDMI ports, fans, controllers, power) don’t touch storage. If a repair involves the SSD or hard drive, we tell you before we start.
Which consoles do you repair?
PlayStation (PS5, PS4, PS3 and older), Xbox (Series X/S, One, 360), Nintendo (Switch, Wii U, 3DS/DS and retro), controllers, and many retro systems and cartridges.
Can you fix a console another shop couldn’t?
Often, yes. We do board-level repair, including trace and pad repair after failed HDMI jobs. Bring it in and we’ll take a look.
Do you offer mail-in repair?
Yes, nationwide. Start a ticket on our mail-in page, ship the console, and we quote it after diagnosis. Diagnosis and return shipping are free.
What if my console can’t be fixed?
We tell you at diagnosis. For Omaha and mail-in repairs the only charge is a $40 diagnostic fee, and mail-ins still ship back free. In Lincoln, the $25 drop-off fee covers the diagnosis.
