A drifting controller doesn’t have to go in the trash. We repair PS5 DualSense, DualSense Edge, PS4 DualShock 4, Xbox Series/One controllers and Switch Joy-Cons at our Lincoln counter.
Is it really drift?
- Your character or camera moves when you aren’t touching the stick.
- It happens in more than one game.
- Recalibration (where the console offers it) helps only briefly.
If all three are true, the stick module is worn.
Why sticks drift, and the TMR option
Standard analog sticks use carbon tracks that wear, which causes drift. When we replace a drifting stick we can fit TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sticks, which read position magnetically and have no rubbing contacts to wear out. Background in our post Hall effect vs TMR sticks.
Other controller repairs
- Sticky or unresponsive buttons, triggers and bumpers
- Charging port replacement
- Controllers that won’t pair or charge

Which controllers do you repair?

Can stick drift be fixed permanently?
A new standard stick fixes drift, but standard sticks wear again over time. TMR sticks read position magnetically with no rubbing contacts, so ask about a TMR upgrade when you drop off.
Is it worth repairing a controller instead of buying a new one?
Often, especially for premium controllers like the DualSense Edge. Ask for a quote and decide after you hear the price.
