White light on, fan spinning, but the TV says No Signal? On a PS5 that is usually the HDMI port or the HDMI chip (retimer) behind it. It’s a soldering job, and it’s one we do at our Lincoln counter inside Gamers on King Ln.
Signs the port is damaged
- No picture on any TV or cable, although the console turns on
- Picture appears only when the cable is held at an angle
- Port feels loose, sits crooked, or has bent or missing pins
- Flickering, cutting out, or audio with no video
- The console was dropped or pulled off a stand by its cable
Three free checks first
- Use the HDMI cable that came with the PS5 and try a different TV input.
- Boot into Safe Mode (hold power until the second beep) and choose Change Video Output.
- Shine a flashlight into the port. If a pin is bent or the center tongue is cracked, stop plugging cables in: each attempt can short the pins.
What the repair involves
We open the console, remove the shield, desolder the damaged port with hot air, clean the pads, solder a new port and inspect every pin under magnification. If the port was forced, we also check the HDMI retimer IC, which can fail without visible damage to the port. Your games and saves stay on the SSD; HDMI work doesn’t touch storage.
Already had a cheap HDMI repair elsewhere?
Lifted pads or torn traces from a previous attempt can often be saved with trace repair, but it takes longer. Tell us at drop-off if the console has been opened before.

Frequently asked questions
Can a PS5 HDMI port be repaired, or do I need a new console?
In almost all cases the port can be replaced on the motherboard. Pad or trace damage from a previous repair attempt can usually be fixed too.
Will an HDMI repair erase my games?
No. HDMI repair does not touch the internal SSD, so your games and saves remain.
The port looks fine but there is still no signal. What now?
The HDMI retimer chip behind the port may have failed. Diagnosis tells you whether it is the port, the chip or something else.
How much does PS5 HDMI repair cost in Lincoln?
There is a $25 fee at drop-off that is credited toward the repair. We quote the repair price after diagnosis and nothing is repaired until you approve. Call or text (402) 703-4403 to ask for a quote.
